The First Edition of the LoG Newsletter
"Ladies of Grace" (LoG for short) is the name of our fledgling Women's Ministry here at Grace Community Church of Englewood, Florida. It is our hope to grow as a ministry and to spread the message of Jesus Christ to all the women of our community. This newsletter is one tool we will be using. It is your newsletter. Take time to read it carefully, then make suggestions for improving it in the coming months. This is your chance to be heard. Don't waste it!
Things are changing at Grace, and with your help it can become the church God uses to reach the Englewood area. Check out the Ministry Details page for information about the LoG structure and orgnization, and what areas of ministry are open for you to fill. If you don't see an area that suits your gifts, contact one of the Board members and let them know where you would like to serve. There is always room for a dedicated servant in God's family!
Next month we hope to add some interviews and learn more about some of our sisters at Grace.
Ladies of Grace Retreat, 2011
How do you describe "awesome" in a few sentences? The Lord's hand was on the Ladies of Grace who were able to attend the wonderful retreat in Orlando. The accommodations were marvelous with a great view, and we never felt crowded in the living area downstairs.
It was a blessing to be able to get to know some of ladies a little better and some a lot better. It was a joy to be able to be "real" without fear of what others would think. We laughed, sang, cried (plenty of tissues were used), joked, ate (way too much), slept and prayed together for three days. I believe it built a camaraderie among the ladies that will be there forever.
Our speaker, Millie, was a gift from the Lord, touching our minds and hearts as only He could. She was just what we needed! She shared stories from her past that blended perfectly with what some of us were experiencing at Grace. She shared truths from the Word that reached into our spirits and gave us insights as to how we might be better used by God. Each of us took home nuggets of gold to be used in the future
The selection of songs was great! We all had fun singing praises to the Lord and lifting our spirits to Him in worship.
A special shout-out to Jan, Nada, Mary Nelle and Carolyn for a perfect retreat where nobody felt excluded and everyone was included. Great job ladies.

A Project You May Like
At our luau luncheon, Jan shared the story of a co-worker who recently had triplets. As you can imagine, the family is struggling to keep up with the financial demands this places on them. If you would be willing to help in some way (sending a check, buying diapers, giving good used clothes, etc.) see Jan right away. We'd like to help this young family from the community and show them the love of Christ.
